Procuste’s bed of web informative systems: a fake pluralism?

Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of some of the main issues related to the circulation of information in the Digital Age. The study starts from a general survey of the constitutional architecture and it undertooks a review of the content of the right to inform and to be informed. The study aims to scan the differences between the new and the old mass media, focusing on the organization of information channels afterwards the incoming of the Internet, of new information phenomena like fake news and filter bubble, and of the role of intermediaries involved in online research, such as search engines and social networks.

Author Biography

  • Alessandra Vernice

    Graduated from the University of Florence with a thesis on constitutional law. She has collaborated in various training projects with the University and the Civil Court of Florence. She has a Master in Internet Ecosystem at the University of Pisa.
