This article critically examines ddl 1717, proposed to enhance cybersecurity in Italy through a series of legislative interventions. The document analyzes the increase in penalties for cybercrimes as established by Law 547 of 1993 and discusses the practical difficulties in identifying and prosecuting those responsible for such crimes. The need for preventive measures and digital education to improve awareness and cybersecurity skills among the population is also highlighted. Finally, the paper addresses some systemic concerns regarding specific proposals within the ddl, suggesting possible modifications to improve the effectiveness of the legislation.
