Abstract

Based on the observation of the new social communication paradigms and their influence on the dialectics of the democratic processes in the current hyperconnected society, the paper aims to probe the opportunities and risks connected to the adoption of the new social media by Public administrations and the role of the institutional communication in their processes of digital transformation. The paper also aims to verify the limits and the adequacy of the technical and legal actions currently put in place, in order to open up a debate on prospects for the future.
